We were protected by God

Looking at the news I am reminded that the UK is having a really rough time with the weather at the moment.

M6 in the snowOver the past week we have seen thousands of schools forced to close and on Friday night hundreds of motorists were trapped for up to 10 hours on the M6 (a major motorway).

Now for my American readers may I remind you that the whole of England can comfortably fit into Michigan or  Wyoming or Oregon. It is a small country and virtually the entire country has been snowbound. Not only England but we have had serious problems in Scotland and Wales as well.

Marilyn (my wife) and I are thanking God!

A couple of days before the snow arrived we went off to do a house sit in North Cornwall, England. We are staying in a fabulous big place (rent-free) with wonderful grounds and glorious views.

We have not seen a single snow flake.

Our ViewHere are a couple of pictures that I took this morning. Blue sky and beautiful views. OK I admit we have had some rain and wind but so what.

As many of you will know Marilyn has not been at all well for the past few years and she really does not cope with the cold. So God providing this lovely house sit, in the sun, while the rest of the UK is covered in snow is, in my opinion, a demonstration of His love.

We give Him thanks.Img_0227

Am I saying that because we are Christians we never have problems? NO! That is not what I am saying. We have problems. We have difficulties and we struggle at times just like everyone else. All I am saying is that our Father knows and loves us.

Those of you who have been following this blog will know that we are living in rented accommodation and that the house has now been sold. As a result we need to find somewhere to live from the end of March. Not easy. (Long story if you are interested see http://wp.me/p4h5g-fG    ) but again we are trusting that God knows and I look forward to telling you how He has worked it out. I can’t tell you yet because at this moment I have no idea. I am still waiting for Him to provide suitable accommodation for us.

Anyway all I wanted to do today was share how God has again blessed us and looked after us through the atrocious weather.

Christian House Sitters has blessed hundreds from all over the world and this time God used it to bless Marilyn and I.

Resting and Relaxing at Last

Life has been hectic for the past few months. Loads of different things ranging from church activities through to the difficult time that we have had with Marilyn’s health and her two lots of major surgery since April.

Thank you to all who have been praying for Marilyn. We really do appreciate it.

Even though she has been so ill Marilyn has managed to continue her work running the Children’s Home in Kenya. God has also faithfully been providing the funds needed to keep those 80 kids fed and looked after. To all who have given we say a big thank you.

If you would like to know more about the work in Kenya please use the contact form on this blog.

We are now on vacation in Cornwall where we are house sitting in a delightful house set in fabulous scenery.  It is just so good to be able to unwind at last. No pressure just  time to rest, enjoy the countryside and for Marilyn to start regaining her health.

This morning I watched some TV, enjoyed a good book and went out for a walk. I can’t remember when I was last able to just chill-out.I am already starting to feel the benefit.

Over the next few days we plan to take some short trips to explore this beautiful area.

Out of interest I have just looked up the cost of holiday house rentals in this area. The average if we wanted a 3 bedroom house is £360 for 3 days.

We will be staying in this lovely 4 bedroom house, with 2 lounges, a conservatory, and a large fully equipped kitchen with a separate dining room for 15 days so based on the online prices this would have cost us in excess of £1,800.

We are enjoying it FREE. Thanks to Christian House Sitters. Our only tasks while we are here are to water a couple of indoor pot plants and feed the lovely cat. Actually having the cat is adding to our enjoyment as she is so friendly, no trouble and we love animals.

So if you feel that you would also benefit from a rent-free vacation (we have houses all over the world) why not visit the website. Even though we are on vacation the work of Christian House Sitters continues so feel free to make contact.

God bless you,

Ray
