People are looking for ways to save money on everything and that includes the cost of having a vacation.
In a report published 3 days ago in Out and About it was reported that Over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Camping and Caravanning Club recorded almost 20,000 campers on site across its 109 UK sites. The article goes on to say Figures from the Office of National Statistics indicate that last year 5.4 million camping and caravanning trips were taken compared with just 4.9 million B&B stays. Results for 2011 are expected to show an even wider gap as the nation seeks to find cheaper ways to holiday. (http://bit.ly/nElssR)
I can really understand the appeal. We have enjoyed some delightful camping trips in the past.
But to be honest we have also endured some other camping trips huddled up in a tent with the wind howling, the rain pelting down and toilets located on the far side of a muddy field.
I now prefer the comfort of staying in a house with hot and cold running water, electricity, TV, comfortable beds and a real kitchen to prepare the food.
Below are a few pictures of houses we have recently had available for our members.

But with camping you can enjoy the great outdoors.
True but if that is what you want you can choose a housesit that is in the great outdoors. Like this one we had available.

But what about the cost?
Because we do it through Christian House Sitters it costs less that camping. In fact it is FREE.
Which would you prefer?
Paying to stay in a tent or living rent-free in a lovely house.
We have houses all over the world.
