A Small World can mean a Big Problem

The world, so they say, is becoming ever smaller because of TV, the Internet and fast travel.

Small WorldPlaces that were once so very far away are now almost in our own backyard. I can remember living in South Africa and placing a phone call to England and being told there was a 14 hour delay and that when I was put through I would be limited to a maximum of 3 minutes.

How it has changed.

I love the changes. I am delighted that I can sit in my home in England, pick up the telephone and preach to a congregation gathered in rural Kenya where they do not even have electricity.

Without modern communications we could not run either Christian House Sitters or TLC Children’s Trust.

Without modern communications we could not run the Children’s Home in Kenya from our base in England.

But sadly with every step forward there seems to be a corresponding step backwards.

Because the world is so much smaller we are no longer shocked when we see children starving, pictures of war or disasters. We have become much more hard hearted.

I want to challenge every one who reads this to prayerfully consider if you can do something, no matter how small, to help those less fortunate than yourself.

One place you may like to begin is by making a donation towards the Children’s Home in Kenya.

These children would be homeless, living on the streets, begging and stealing to stay alive if it were not for Home of Peace. Instead they are well fed, clothed attending a good school and growing up in a Christian environment. As a result instead of ending up either dead or as criminals they can now grow into productive, educated and healthy members of society.

We personally monitor where every penny is spent. We do not take anything towards our overheads but cover these personally.

James 1:27 So please consider helping.

Areas we need help include.

Occasional gifts. No matter how small.

Regular sponsorship for a child.

Gifts towards the urgent need to build additional dormitories as our facilities are not sufficient to meet the required minimum standard set by the Children’s Services.

How can you get involved?
God bless you

ABOUT Christian House Sitters Christian House Sitters is a Worldwide ministry that started in order to provide holidays for Christians and sitters for owners who needed a reliable Christian to look after their home, pets and garden. House owners do not pay anything to have their property listed. House sitters are only charged £25 per year and in return for this some enjoy numerous holidays each year. All fees from membership go to sponsor food for children at the Home of Peace Children’s Home in Kenya. This only supplies about a quarter of what is needed to feed the children so we urgently need sponsors. All funds go via our Registered Charity TLC Children’s Trust Charity Number 1156786 website http://www.tlc-childrenstrust.org N.B. Joining Christian House Sitters does NOT commit you to sponsoring a child or giving any support beyond your membership fee to these children. Although naturally if you want to support that would be greatly appreciated. We have some regular sponsors and other people who give an occasional gift. All are greatly appreciated.
