We were protected by God

Looking at the news I am reminded that the UK is having a really rough time with the weather at the moment.

M6 in the snowOver the past week we have seen thousands of schools forced to close and on Friday night hundreds of motorists were trapped for up to 10 hours on the M6 (a major motorway).

Now for my American readers may I remind you that the whole of England can comfortably fit into Michigan or  Wyoming or Oregon. It is a small country and virtually the entire country has been snowbound. Not only England but we have had serious problems in Scotland and Wales as well.

Marilyn (my wife) and I are thanking God!

A couple of days before the snow arrived we went off to do a house sit in North Cornwall, England. We are staying in a fabulous big place (rent-free) with wonderful grounds and glorious views.

We have not seen a single snow flake.

Our ViewHere are a couple of pictures that I took this morning. Blue sky and beautiful views. OK I admit we have had some rain and wind but so what.

As many of you will know Marilyn has not been at all well for the past few years and she really does not cope with the cold. So God providing this lovely house sit, in the sun, while the rest of the UK is covered in snow is, in my opinion, a demonstration of His love.

We give Him thanks.Img_0227

Am I saying that because we are Christians we never have problems? NO! That is not what I am saying. We have problems. We have difficulties and we struggle at times just like everyone else. All I am saying is that our Father knows and loves us.

Those of you who have been following this blog will know that we are living in rented accommodation and that the house has now been sold. As a result we need to find somewhere to live from the end of March. Not easy. (Long story if you are interested see http://wp.me/p4h5g-fG    ) but again we are trusting that God knows and I look forward to telling you how He has worked it out. I can’t tell you yet because at this moment I have no idea. I am still waiting for Him to provide suitable accommodation for us.

Anyway all I wanted to do today was share how God has again blessed us and looked after us through the atrocious weather.

Christian House Sitters has blessed hundreds from all over the world and this time God used it to bless Marilyn and I.

About housesitters

ABOUT Christian House Sitters Christian House Sitters is a Worldwide ministry that started in order to provide holidays for Christians and sitters for owners who needed a reliable Christian to look after their home, pets and garden. House owners do not pay anything to have their property listed. House sitters are only charged £25 per year and in return for this some enjoy numerous holidays each year. All fees from membership go to sponsor food for children at the Home of Peace Children’s Home in Kenya. This only supplies about a quarter of what is needed to feed the children so we urgently need sponsors. All funds go via our Registered Charity TLC Children’s Trust Charity Number 1156786 website http://www.tlc-childrenstrust.org N.B. Joining Christian House Sitters does NOT commit you to sponsoring a child or giving any support beyond your membership fee to these children. Although naturally if you want to support that would be greatly appreciated. We have some regular sponsors and other people who give an occasional gift. All are greatly appreciated. ABOUT RAY & MARILYN We are Marilyn & Ray White. A fun loving Christian couple who have been in Christian work for over 30 years. Marilyn was born in England but moved to Zimbabwe as a baby. Ray also has an active preaching ministry and runs Christian seminars on subjects such as stress management for church groups. He has written two books. A Christian book that is a very practical workbook on Christian commitment as applied to real life. The book looks at how we can surrender ourselves more fully to God. This is looked at under the headings of Physical, Mental, Social and Spiritual commitment. The book is called Let’s Get Serious. He has also written a secular book on Stress Management called Stress Overcoming this Potential Killer. (Ray was previously Chair of the International Stress Management Association UK). News Update This book has now been released as an e-book as well A few years ago we did a 2 month House Sit in France. Whilst there we felt the Lord leading us to set up a Christian House Sitting service. Since then we have done a number of other house sits. We believe this site will benefit many Christians around the world. Feel free to contact us (BUT please no spam) NOTE: If you want a fast reply the best way to contact us is via the contact page on the Christian House Sitters website www.christian-housesitters.com God bless you, Ray & Marilyn

  1. Dear Ray,

    1) I went to your website and read the following paragraph which contains an error: *WordPress are adding adverts to blogs. Seems they is not always shown but if there are adverts on this page please note they were not placed by me, not approved by me and do not imply my recommendation. * *”…Seems they (?) is not always….” * 2) I intended to donate some money, but the PayPal page has only British Sterling. As the Rand is not mentioned, and I do not know the exchange rate, why does PayPal not allow a donor to type in the currency of the donor’s country? 3) Furthermore, the “Billing address” presumably refers to YOUR address. Surely if the PayPal form appears on YOUR website, it should have it ready filled in? It is not very user friendly as the prospective donor has to search away from the FORM and hunt for the details? 4) Also, when I clicked on the COUNTRY, only British City names are listed.

I’m afraid the donations procedure is NOT user-friendly and does not make it easy to want to donate.

    Sincerely, Arthur.
