On Monday Marilyn (my wife) went into the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford for major surgery. Guildford is a good 2 hour drive from where we live so I booked into the local Travelodge for 2 nights which allowed me to visit her on Monday, Tuesday and yesterday (Wednesday)
The surgery seems to have gone very well although for 24 hours following the operation she was kept under very close watch in the Intensive Care Unit.
Yesterday she was allowed to eat for the first time and today they have her walking.
I will be going back up to Guildford tomorrow and again staying at the Travelodge.
THANK YOU to everyone who has sent messages of support and assurances of prayer.
What happened to Christian House Sitters during this time? It continued. My faithful laptop enabled me to keep the wheels turning and hopefully nobody noticed any disruption in our service.
Staying at the Travelodge reminded me again just how very expensive it is to stay in a hotel. And this was not a 5 star place by any stretch on the imagination. What a blessing it is that through Christian House Sitters we can enable people all over the world to avoid this expense and instead stay rent-free in lovely homes while the owners are away.
